Love God. We gather to worship God and follow Jesus
The call to follow Jesus is a community call; our faith is meant to be a group project. In our worship services, the Word is read and performed. We read the Bible through a Jesus-centered lens. We sing, pray, and listen for God together.
Worship
A typical worship service at Southern Hills includes prayer, Scripture reading, a children’s story, a sermon, and many different types of music. Corporate prayer is important, so we share our joys and concerns weekly. Worship is meant to be participatory, so expect to see many different parts to play. Music is especially important at Southern Hills. We use a variety of instruments as well opportunities for choir or hand chimes. We often celebrate Holy-days with special events at Christmas and Easter.
Music & Arts
Music & Art help us to glorify God. It is a way for individuals to contribute to the message of Jesus and our Anabaptist-Mennonite beliefs in worship.
Music at Southern Hills is a strong component of our worship through congregational singing, choirs, and a variety of talented instrumentalists. We have opportunities for both beginners and seasoned musicians to participate.
We celebrate our faith through art. Many pieces are displayed in our WAR NO MORE Art Gallery.
Christian Education
Christian education takes place at all ages in many different formats. Sunday school classes after worship for all ages, summer Vacation Bible School for children, and bible study groups are some of the ways we learn more about our faith and grow in our relationship with Christ. Classes vary in format and focus.

Potlucks and more!
We enjoy gathering in fellowship around meals, around service projects, celebrations of our congregants’ life events. We celebrate the birth of Christ, his resurrection, and Thanksgiving. Gathering around coffee happens often.
