In 2014, the Painting Circle opened the WAR NO MORE Art Gallery in the south hallway near the Church Office of Southern Hills Mennonite Church. This Gallery instigated its purpose to speak out against war and highlight artistic expressions from our church family.
It features reflections on sermon illustrations, locally made quilts, the poetry of church family, oils and watercolors, photography, and a variety of artistic endeavors, all to say that making art instead of war is our call.
A pretty wildflower on the south wall says that God is not indifferent to mankind. A history book written by a former church member is in the literary corner. Part of our permanent collection is the Paul Zehr Memorial, highlighting several of his works. A quotation from Menno Simons from 1539 and featured monthly artists speak out against WAR in any way possible.
